We print DTF transfers in five sizes, from 4 inches up to 12 inches. The right one depends less on the garment size and more on where the design sits and how bold you want it to read. Here's how to pick.

4-Inch Transfers

Best for: pockets, sleeves, hat fronts, the corner of a tote bag, or small accent details paired with a larger design elsewhere on the garment. This is also the size to buy first if you just want to test a design or a fabric before committing to a bigger print.

Mid-Range Sizes

Between 4 and 12 inches, mid-sized transfers cover the most common request: a standard chest print on an adult tee, sitting a couple inches below the collar without stretching toward the shoulders. If you're unsure, this range is the safest default for a typical adult t-shirt or hoodie.

12-Inch Transfers

Best for: full-front designs, oversized graphic tees, sweatshirt fronts, and back prints. A 12-inch transfer fills most of the usable print area on an adult medium or larger, so it reads as a statement piece rather than an accent.

Matching Size to Garment

Hat or pocket 4 inches
Youth or toddler tee Mid-range, scaled down from the standard chest size
Adult chest print Mid-range (the most popular choice)
Full front or back, adult 12 inches
Tote bag or apron Mid-range to 12 inches, depending on the bag size

Buying More Than One

If you're pressing a batch — a class set of back-to-school designs, for example, or matching shirts for a group — bundles of 5, 10, or 20 in the DTF Transfer Bundles collection bring the per-transfer price down versus buying each one individually. There's no minimum order either way, so a single 4-inch transfer is just as easy to order as a bundle of 20.

Not Sure? Order One First

Every design in the shop can be ordered as a single transfer before you commit to a bundle size. Once you've pressed one and confirmed it's the size and placement you want, the Complete Guide to Ready-to-Press DTF Transfers covers pricing and application for the rest of the order.
